Jed had another year of tremendous wrestling success. As a Junior he completed his season with a 53-2 record. The 2011/2012 season involved changes such as high school realignment moving Payson to the 3A division and Payson competing for the first time at Reno TOC. Jed remained undeafeated to any Utah wrestlers. Jed was able to redeem 1 of the 2 seasonal losses received at Reno TOC, when he met for the 2nd time, Hayden Tuma of Centenial Idaho. Jed avenged his earlier loss with a 4-2 decision in overtime.

Other than Reno, Jed took the championship at every tournament wrestled at this season Including the 3A State Championship, where he finished with 3 pins and the championship match with a tech fall. No wrestler scored against him.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONALS (DENVER)

The Rocky Mountain Nationals is one of the few tournaments that allow double entries. Jed enjoyed the success of reigning Champion of both the 18 and under Division as well as the Open Division @ 132 & 133 lbs respectively.

The 18 & under division was well represented (64 man bracket with some byes) as numerous wrestlers from the western states attended. Jed wrestled and beat accomplished wrestlers such as Josh Morin (senior), Runner-up and 2 time Montana State Champion by an 8-0 victory in the Semi-finals. He met with (senior) Adrian Montoya in the finals. Montoya a New Mexico Runner-up and 3 time State Champion was definitely an opponent with clout. Jed walked away the victor with a 5-2 Decision.

The Open division was a new and very worthwhile experience for Jed, he met with a former Hastings College wrestler in the Semis and won by pin. The finals match was against Utah native Quin Dixon where Jed gained his championship by an 8-3 margin.
